VDOT Basic Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) Certification
The Basic Work Zone course is required for all persons with duties that include direct responsibility for placement and removal, and maintenance of work zone traffic control devices. Flagger Certification is included with this course. VDOT requires WZTC training every four (4) years.
The training is comprised of VDOT Training Materials, and each course provides a VDOT card with completion of the course. A test will be given with a passing grade of 80% or above required for the certification.
